Maybe you can let us know your feelings on the Apprentice Tech Card. Where a diver with 50 dives can take a rich O2 mix to depth to extend his/her NDL.

and PM sent to Daddy.

AFAIK, which may be inaccurate, you need 100 dives, rescue, and deep (or equivalent - as I am NAUI master, rescue w/o PADI certs yet). where did 50 dives come from?

DSAT Tec Diver Level One Course Details
Have a minimum of 50 logged dives, of which at least 10 must be enriched air dives, 12 must be deeper than 18 metres/60 feet and at least six must be deeper than 30 metres/100 feet

I have learned a lot of somethings from Jeff.

I bet we all could learn a lot from Jeff, however, most people are turned off when it turns into personal attacks.

Maybe you should re-read the thread and see where it starts. (Hint: You will need a mirror).

But then again, I really couldn't care less if I "turn people off".

I stated my opinion about a class, and you said it was idiotic. I will state it again, you seem to have a lot of knowledge, but a lot of people will miss out on what you could share because of the delivery. Take that as you will. (Hint:It was a compliment)

Jeff- check out this thread on NC divers. I can't vouch for the validity of the quote from JJ, but this seems very similar to what you don't like about the DSAT program- non-tech trained divers bringing O2-rich bottles to depth:

NCDivers.com • View topic - GUE moves into Recreational Certification

And if not, what is the diff b/w Tech 1 and "recreational 3"? The course description says its a great "preparation" for technical diving, so it must not cover the same material. I'm very confused about these new offerings. Any insight here?

Any insight here?
Nope. Not being a GUE instructor, I'm not sure what GUE is trying to do here.

It almost looks like they wanted 3 recreational classes to fit their naming (ie Cave 1,2,3 Tech 1,2,3 Model), so they invented some lame class to fit between Rec 2 and Tech 1.

GUE - Got Unlimited Expenses?

So anyway! You need to mark your bottles appropriately and get with your dive partner in shallow water and practice confirming and switching gas, then go back to your back gas. Re stow your stage and switch to the next. You should know what gas switch happens at which depth instinctively, no question. Another technique is to nose clip your richer deco gases to your waist Dring, leaving only your lean mix under your left arm. This helps reduce questions even in a task loaded situation. It also means that you are removing bottles to reposition them and you can inspect them to confirm which gases they are. I would start with mod exercises, and know what each deco mix switch depth is, so there is never a question.
