Looks like Cozumel might see a little rain and wind around Monday, but it's supposed to weaken a lot before it's in the area. Hopefully it'll track more to the east.

Well, we're getting used to it! We've had a "little" rain over the past few days. We shall watch Ms. Ida...

Yep, we got poured on Saturday morning on our way back from Barracuda Reef. Good thing it cleared up later in the day for the Halloween festivities. :D

Port's been closed in cancun for the past couple of days as well... looks like it'll stay that way for the rest of the weekend as well. But it's not a hurricane... it's a tropical storm.. according to the National Hurricane Center, max sustained winds are 65 mph, which keeps it in TS status (at least for another 5mph). stay safe everyone!

It must have been downgraded a little. It had 75mph when I looked it up earlier. Good news! I hope it keeps weakening....

It is a "small storm" and only one model out of 5 predicts a Cozumel hit, then at only tropical storm strength. That is according to Welcome to Weather Underground : Weather Underground. It of course deserves watching but it would be a shame for all to change vacation plans at this point. The risks of it affecting diving in Cozumel is very low, that is why we have Hurricane Insurance.

It's getting weaker, tho the nhc still has it as a ts by the time it comes our way... I guess I'll be doing a lot of cavern diving this weekend... if anybody wants to tag along, hit me up.

Not trying to highjack your thread but we are about water logged.

Although we live in the highest part of the state, ever heard of Driskall Mountain at 525feet?

For the month of October we have had 26 inches of rain. This past Thursday we had 5.9 inches in less than 24 hours. The rivers are way above flood stage and lots of folks have had their homes and camps along the lakes and rivers flooded. In one parish(county) north of us they had over 50 roads closed due to high water.

Oh, and let's not forget the state bird of Louisiana, the giant mosquito. Thank goodness for Therma Cells. If you've never used one they're great.

So looking forward to Nov. 18th when we're head south on another road trip. Should be on the island about the 21st.
