I am 64 just now, and I was certified in summer 1975, when I was 16. It was a 6-months long course, and I got directly the CMAS ** certification. The following year, in summer 1976, I got the full *** certification.
Assistant instructor in 1977, and one-star instructor in September 1978.
Two stars instructor in 1982, and finally 3 stars instructor in September 1983.
I was the 14th Italian to reach the 3 stars-instructor certification.
Switched to "pro" in spring 1985, and ended my "pro" career at the end of 1989.
My wife is younger one year, also she started her career at 16, became an instructor and worked with me as a pro in the same years.
Since 1990 we are plain recreational divers, and we did teach only to our sons.

I am 61. Certified 1977 through a Navy instructor. It was not a recreational class LOL. Those who went through it will know what I am talking about!
Went all the way to assistant instructor and 6 pack dive boat owner. Have no idea how many dives. Stopped logging in the early 90's

66, certified 2014, 300 dives. My wife and I do mostly quarry diving but we do NC coastal diving as well as Caribbean diving as much as we can.

57, ~300 dives, certified in 1995.

Didn't I just write this out in another thread? 61 years old. Certified in 1989. Instructor in 1993. 4900 Dives. Mostly warm water. All about fish and critters for me.

In the 70-79 category the question is more like when did you start diving?

C-Card? We don’t need no stinkin’ C-Card!

68 and NAUI certified in 1974. Stopped buying log books after 200 (each with 100 pages), and that was 18 years ago. No reason to count the dives I've done anymore, I ljust look forward to the ones I haven't done yet.
