Wait....she's managed to find a bunch of guys who dive?

Send 'em my way! My old DB is now living with his ball and ch--I mean girlfriend and my best friend who is here this summer is too scared of "cold water" to go diving. So if you're near the DC area, I'll trade you flirting for a DB!

PS. When being polite fails - snot rockets or a snotty attitude work wonders. Especially when you get off the boat and you direct that snotty attitude towards his car/bike/skateboard. ;-):mooner:

LOL ... this thread is pretty funny !..

my suggestion would be this .. i saw this on my last dive with my instructors and it may help ! ...

on her fins ( bottom side ) write something ... my instructor had something like this " here fishy fish " written on bottom of her fins .. which i thought was funny !

she can write " im here to dive, not date " so of course all the guys who's "hitting" on her would of course follow her underwater .. so of course they will see the obvious sign whats her purpose ..

Wait a minute, YOU have a problem finding a flirting DB?! I think I might have to do some east coast diving! ha ha ha

Reminds me of a story my cousin tells. She worked as a croupier in a casino in London, and they had to wear really loose tops that left a large gap when she leaned forward to clear the chips. Eventually she got so tired of it, she had a tight T-shirt printed up with "stop staring at my ****" in elongated writing (so it could be read at an acute angle).

Tell her to burp, fart, and pee in her wetsuit and not rinse it out.

If she can't bring herself to do that, tell her to get over it and enjoy the attention while she still can. :)

Thats exactly what I do naturally and it definitely doesn't deter the boys. It draws them in.

Burp, Fart, Pee, Run to drop a deuce, Snort when I laugh, Pick my wedgie, Smell my underarms, and definitely announce it all at the same time.

But the times I'm quiet, innocent and mind my own business is the times I'm called a mean girl.

Just cant win. But than again what is their flirting technique, is it really flirting or friendly conversation?

Have her go DIR. She can wear all black and have an attitude problem, hence the only divers she will be allowed to talk to will be other DIR types. Of course male DIR divers won't hit on her because they will be so engrossed with the whole DIR thing any thought of hitting on her would be frowned upon by JJ and the DIR police.

Or as an alternative, she should eat lots of garlic and beans...would be a lot cheaper, and no BP/W required!

I think some interaction is not unusual or even disrespectful if it is done properly. Unless it is quite obvious that she is not single, it should not be that unusual to have a man make casual inquiries (although not stare at her bikini... drool profusely... or worse).

I have and have had some drop dead gorgeous women as my dive buddies. Although we tease and flirt, we each know that it is all in fun. However, men often come up to them (especially dive buddy #1, Andrea) and try to hit on her. She handles it very well. Most of them get away with nothing worse than a black eye.

I always enjoy mixed company on a dive boat, as anywhere else. My girl friends and I are often the only females on the boat. The males are naturally drawn to us and seem to always be watching, just in case they might be able to assist, it seems. I think diving often tends to bring out the sociable and helpful aspects of both males and females, and I love the comfortable atmosphere on dive boats.

If the attention is creepy or persistent, I will get terse and move away and/or direct my attention elsewhere, like toward a buddy.

When people flirt in a good-natured way, I have nothing against it. Like some said, we might as well enjoy the attention while we can. :)

Miss Scuba is a woman. Unless she is gay (not that there's anything wrong with that) then I think she used "girlfriend" like a lot of women do, to refer to their friends who are women.

you are right! LOL...
I am a girl and referring to my friend who is also a girl.

Thanks the great tips!

BTW: Tried the wedding ring! Only attracts more "sharks" for some strange reason.
