I wear one on each wrist, primary on left and backup on right. Analog gauge attached to a retractable lanyard on the lower left side of my BCD.

I too wear two computers. Both are Terics. Left or Right? My backup computer is the one that didn’t fail. (Never happened yet).

If was thinking that, for these two stressed and unprepared divers, any time spent at the safety stop would seem like an eternity. So my guess is that the 1-2 minute safety stop was probably closer to the 1 minute mark

I say the one in my right is backup because the one on my left is air integrated. I have had a dive computer fail that why i started wearing two. The one that failed was a consul type, an Oceanic Pro Plus X first generation. It failed on the second dive I used it. The Oceanic customer service was so bad, I’ll never buy another one of their products. It’s Shearwater (Perdix 2) all the way for name now,

Both of mine are AI on one transmitter. Mini SPG on waist as backup to those.

When you dive with two computers do you wear both on your wrist or do you stow one in a pocket? I just bought a new computer and was going to sell my old one but I have seen MANY folks recommend having a backup. I was curious the way more experienced folks go about using/wearing their backups.
When using just SW Perdii, I had one on each wrist.

Now I typically have a Perdix AI on my right wrist, an Omega Seamaster w/ bezel set to splash time on my left, and a SW NERD 2 hanging on my primary reg.

I dive with two Perdix 2s. One on my left wrist and one on my right. I have a transmitter on my main tank and another on my pony. I can monitor the gas in both tanks on both computers.

I've seen plenty of divers who dive this way, especially when I had less experience and placed on boats with others of equally little experience. There are vacation divers who follow the DM as a way to "monitor" their NDL. They expect that the DM will regularly ask how much gas they have and ascend when the DM tells them to.

I cannot fathom why someone would approach diving this way, but some people do. Her question asking the OP, "What would you have done differently?" is very telling. Perhaps they have no reference point for what makes for safe diving.

This is what I do. The computers stay in the same place relative to each other. The screens generally display some different information. However, I always have the AI values on both computers.

One of the things about having two computers is sometimes people who forgot their computer on the dive or have their computer malfunction on a dive want to use your second computer. You have decide whether or not to do that.

There's a story about what happened in that situation at the Blue Hole of Belize. The guy borrowing the computer ended up getting bent.

I love the fact that you can display additional info on each screen. No pushing buttons underwater. Luxury.

I wear two computers but on the same wrist. They aren't Shearwater nor do they display/measure the gas in my tank.
