I am only concerned with other divers to the extent that they affect my dives. I am more concerned with an unknown diver's skills and underlying physical health issues that might result in a situation that will have a negative outcome than I am interested in their consumption habits.

Did you know that in firearm competitions alcohol consumption is prohibited. Not because it would make a shooter careless or dangerous, but because it is considered a performance enhancer. Helps to steady the hands.

Some people I have dived with were so tightly wound up that they would have been much better divers if they took a puff or two or had a bloody mary and relaxed.

Many divers here enjoy a post dive beer from the shack at the caletta right after stepping off the boat.

If someone drank a single beer with lunch before another dive, I would dive with that guy too. If he belted down a 6 pack with lunch - that's a little different.

Just like so many things in life (thermal comfort, BPW vs anything else, etc), there are way too many variables to make such a blanket statement.

For example, if I had a single beer with lunch during my 1hr+ SI, you shouldn't dive with me. Heck, I shouldn't dive with me then either. Other people -- some who are smaller/weigh less than I do -- have different tolerance (more practice?), and would be fine.

Getting somewhat closer to the topic on-hand, I'd suggest that applying similar measures to judging whether someone's OK to dive (or more importantly, OK to be my buddy) based on consumption (quantity, duration since intake before diving) is much more of a problem with pot than with alcohol. Drinking is at least well quantified (% alcohol/quantity is printed on the label, size of drinks are well-known and fairly standardized)...whereas pot varies tremendously, and the delivery method (smoking -- cigarette vs waterpipe, edible product, etc) will have a very large impact on the onset & intensity of effects.

So, the CZM puppies rolled over and showed their bellies to our pounds of THC/CBD edibles. Diving has been soooo much better pain free. Thanks to all for the advice, too bad we don't risk sales internationally, or you could all feel his good!

LOL.

Did you know that there is no IQ test for either a firearm purchase or to have a child? But unnamed scuba regulatory agency makes you have minimum skills and dives to get a card to suck air underwater?

There is no such thing as a scuba "regulatory agency" to my knowledge. All that exists is a collusion between certification agencies, sellers of compressed gasses, and boat operators. You can go out and buy all your own stuff (gear, boat, compressor) and dive your face off with no c-card. There's nothing illegal about it.

The sellers of compressed gasses and boat operator would probably rather certification be unnecessary. The fear of lawsuits is what drives their motivations I'm pretty sure. Although, often those guys are directly affiliated with a seller of certification cards.

Find a good instructor if you want to, buy your own stuff and dive on your own if that's your thing. Many people have done that over the years. You'll see posts from people who claim to have been diving longer than I've been alive and they say they've never taken a class.

Did you just show off on an internet forum about how you evaded detection from smuggling an illegal substance into Mexico?

At the beginning I had sympathies for you, being a vet and suffering in pain...but those sympathies are no longer.

Pounds of edibles? Must be really weak or you are planning on staying for a long time. Or maybe you are planning on financing your trip by selling your stash.

How do you time the dosing? Do you eat them just before diving or do you just eat them every 4 to 6 hours around the clock?

Do you use just to relieve the pain while diving or do you use to relieve the constant pains and aches of life? If diving is so painful that you need to use why do you continue to dive?

Have you just tried diving without meds? It can be a great pain reliever on it's own. The weightlessness, the mini hyperbaric treatment, the stretching and exercise of swimming, the mild narc effect, endorphin boost, etc all make me feel better after a dive.

Maybe you could try donning and doffing your gear in the water to avoid any stress on your body.

Do you notice a difference between the cbd and the thc edibles in terms of pain relief vs feeling high?

I bought my first ever pack of gummy candies with CBD in them, and have tried them for one day. I noticed the hand pain was gone in about 20 minutes, but comes back in a couple hours. I was told by seller to take one morning and one at night. I will make a full report after a week.
I have no use for THC, because, although the high may fade in a day, the lowered mental processing doesn’t recover completely for three days.
