The notification my dive shop got from PSI states permit number 9791, so both E and SP are included.

It looks like our long national nightmare is over.

Edited to add: It looks like @Tracy and I posted at the same time.
Thanks for posting this.

The nightmare isn't really over; this is more like one of those Nightmare on Elm Street movies; where they think they've defeated him, but really he's going away for a short-while and rebuilding his strength.

I’m so glad PSI-PCI is taking the credit for all their extraordinary work!! Haha ..they did nothing except alert dive shops to not fill our tanks while the permit was expired.
Oh, where would we be if not for spending $20/year/tank on a completely pointless inspection, and having to leave our tanks at shops for a week for something that only takes a few minutes to do.

If PSI-PCI wasn't ****ing us over, they wouldn't have a reason to exist.

They’re the masters at self promotion.

They really are pathetic.
Yeah, it would be a far, far better look for PSI-PCI if they publicly announced back in June they had notfied the manufacturer, ahead of permit expiration, to get the permit renewal.

...and worked with them through the process to get it approved! Like here's the form to fill out, mistakes to avoid, etc. We'll help you through the process of dealing with the government bureaucracy and make sure there are no hickups.

PSI-PCI is a company that trains people to VIP and Hydro cylinders. There is absolutely nothing they can do about DOT permit renewals.

Ideally they should have just remained silent to avoid causing confusion and angst. Like the 17 prior times, the exemption got renewed. As it will in 5 years.... The established precedent for manufacturers to continue to do so isn't going to to away.

And that’s the problem..they didn’t stay silent. Instead they Saber rattled and pumped out misinformation. They never actually spoke to PST and they inferred that PST wasn’t going to renew. PSI-PCI pumped out info about their work with DOT to circumvent the process to help us all out, but really they hurt us all by letting dive shops know they shouldn’t fill these SP9791 cylinders. Then they took a victory lap yesterday thanking themselves and the DOT…for what for renewing a permit that PST owns and applied for a renewal albeit late.

Yea, they pretty much suck and always have. They simply showed themselves to be who many of us have known them to be for years.
