The Canadian Government has extended the permit to mid 2025 for cylinders in Canada. No idea what happens then.
We jump on the merry-go-round again.

Thanks for the heads up, I wasn't sure of the Canadian status but having my own compressor I wasn't too concerned.

You can't re-mark an existing tank...

You can't, but in one case the hydro shops had to stamp 3AL on SP6498, the 6351 alloy tanks, when the SP tanks were considered to be regular AL tanks and no longer needed the SP permit.

It's the war in Ukraine Eric

Those are commonly referred to as mid pressure steels. Not desirable in any diving circle that I know of
I find them desirable for use in certain equipment configurations. For one thing, I can reduce my lead to 4# when using them. Another advantage, is that the weight is very far back when I am on the surface & if I am wearing a wing, this helps prevent the wing from pushing me into a forward (face down) attitude.

Thank you PST/G3 for filing the renewal & thank you Tracy for posting the renewal document promptly when it became available.

Sometimes squeaky wheel gets the grease. If it takes dozens of us annoying government officials who don't want to do their job, then perhaps they'll get the hint.
That could just as easily pi$$ them off, and make it even less likely to get done.
