One of the things the Congress managed to do before the shut down was passed the Helium Stewardship Act. I'm not certain how if the president has signed it or not, if he does how will it affect the price of Helium?

Here is a link to the story I read: http://thomas.loc.gov/home/gpoxmlc113/h527_eh.xml

I'm not Trimix trained but I have been hearing that Helium is expensive and expected to be more so in the future. I didn't see the point in looking into training if I would not be able to afford the gas.

Actually, the motivation for Trimix training is to see what skills/tasks you're able to perform and remember doing at depth with a clear head, before reverting back to using Deep Air. Use that baseline training to help you gauge & mitigate task loading (or when to abort the dive immediately if experiencing the vicious CO2 retention-dark narc cycle, etc) while under the narcotic effects of Deep Air.

That was not my motivation for trimix training...

Sounds like someone's gas bills are finally getting to him ;)

Lol;)! Well, that's another direct effect of the Fed Gov't shutdown I have to worry about . . .Uncle Sam not currently paying for all this wonderful "spacecraft" hardware that I'm building for him, so that I can continue to pay-off that Bikini Atoll/Truk Lagoon Helium/Oxygen Gas Bill last June-July.
