- It's possible (but unlikely) that there was low O2 or even some CO in the mix.
- It's possible that he wasn't equalizing properly and experienced some alternobaric vertigo which can cause severe nausea, I've seen this first hand more than once. It could happen in a pool.
- It's possible he just got sick coincidentally because kids throw up all the time from various aliments or foods unrelated to diving.

This is all pure conjecture.
Congrats for being the only person here who gave some theories instead of talking about balloons I think equalizing was probably the most likely out of your theories, but it could be anything

18% would not cause any issue at sea level.
16% is considered to be bare minimum at sea level.
Hypoxic mix is under 16%.
That saying it happened at sea level though but of course, if it was improperly mixed, who saying it would be exactly 18% it probably would’ve been less if that was the case it could be something else like CO the theories are limitless

I remember Boy Scout camps back int he 80s. I still go with my bad hot dog theory.

Happened long long time ago and there is no way to analyze that mix now.

Maybe someone trained by the dive talk academy can use their online analyzer skills to clarify this for us. . .

UHP is 5 nines. Industrial is 4.
Curious what medical requirements are. I would guess relatively low much like USP O2.
Oxyhacker has them shown on page 67, stuff like this never changes. Except these glorious prices!

That’s why I said the theories are limitless because there’s so many factors that we cannot count in
