The service manual for the G250, G250V and G260 require the regulator to free flow when the purge is depressed with the Venturi at Max and not free flow with the Venturi at Min. JFYI.
That's what I read in the service manuals but was unable to replicate it on almost all of my halos

You cannot get no free flow in Min or you cannot get free flow in Max? Or neither or both?

Something is wrong with either a parts compatibility, bad seat/orifice or bad adjustment. I know that helps a lot :mad:except to assure you that the second stage MUST free flow in Max position for correct operation when diving..

My G250V with anything over 1.2 CE won’t free flow, at 1.0 CE it will violently free flow.

I'm leaning toward interaction between poppet and BC being a likely cause.

I wish I lived closer to ya'll I'd love the take a look.
From what I remember, op mentioned the units with high CE also have low purge.

Interesting, I've built over 40 brand new G250Vs and owned a few used ones and IIRC not one of them would free flow with knob out and viva on max. It would violently free flow whilst purge was depressed but would stop once purge was released. This was the case regardless of spring used .216 or .218. All parts new stock OEM.

I'd set all the G250Vs I built at 1.1" and none would free flow in contrast to every G250 I've ever built🤔

The service manual instruction the free flow is initiated by pressing the purge and then to stop the free flow with the thumb over the mouthpiece with the VIVA at Max (and this with the knob adjusted fully out). My 109/156/G250/G260 all will do this per the service instructions.

So now I am curious, what other than the riveted on silver beauty ring is different with the G250V vs a standard (non HP) G250? I thought the G250V was a return to the G250 goodness that was misplaced with the plasticky G250HP? Well, I guess (speaking G250V) there is the (plastic) sleeve for the air tube at the interface with the lever tabs but I do not see how that would change much functionally.

Yes, I know. But this is not my experience with the G250V regardless what manual says.

I'm interested what percentage of G250Vs actually do this🤔

Might do a poll.

Certainly with every G250 it will behave as manual states, 100%.

I’m at 50/50, I have two. One I purchased from you and they other from Rob S.

Guess which one passes the test?
