Seriously, I have more than enough money to buy said improved technology. I've spent a hell of allot more on gear, just not fins. They will truly have to be spectacular at that price.

Send me a pair for evaluation purposes or get them over to Scuba Labs and we can all read the write up in the testers choice!

I know they make great products but, you have to admit a first time poster on the board with these claims arouse some suspicions.......

I really loved Ber's comments on the flip fins!

I can't tell you what an honor it is to be an owner of the OPS fin system. No single product has made such a huge improvement in the quality of my diving as these remarkable fins! I used to be the first one to go through my air on all my dives and now I am the last person out of the water. People have said, who earth would pay six hundred dollars for a set of fins? I am here to tell you that it was the best investment in my diving history. I now glide through the water effortlessly and find myself kicking more like a dolphin than a human. Not to mention that I am the focus of dive photographers on every trip I am on because these translucent fins are so beautiful in the water. I can't thank Bob, Chad and Blair of their incredible customer service and their continued interest in my diving experiences. I hope that you all come and visit me in Bacalar to dive the gorgeous centotes of the Mexican Riviera. Keep pushing the design envelope for the sake of all divers! You are the greatest.

I don't get it, where's the punch line.

i dont get it either; seems like a lot of money, but i wouldn't mind trying a pair.

I agree w/Dennis. But seriously, are these fins for real? $729.00 (straight from the website) for a pair of fins? I can get a scooter for half of that and go 3x as fast for a heck of a lot longer. Even if they're the fastest, most efficient fin on the planet that price is insane.

I will tell you what's insane. As I stated before, most fins sold in dive stores cost less than $ 7.50 to make and package. They are retailing for $ 200.00. That is why their advertising and distribution is so large. Take it easy the OPS cost more than I can sell it for. $ 700.00 is a deal, but I am not asking you to buy it. It was made for Jean Michel Cousteau's Oceans Future Dive Team. I'll have Blair put up more pictures so you can appreciate its elegance. I'm sorry you can't afford it.

are you honestly trying to claim that a scooter can do 9 knots for at least 3 hours for under $350, talk about a joke. That's not a scooter, thats a damn torpedo.

i'd love to check them out one day. saw them at bts and must say that they are a fine piece of equipment.

While I can understand you've taken a lot of flack on the board, I'm not one of your detractors so there's no need for the condescending, "sorry you can't afford them," remark. I'm a big fan of looking at new technology and I personally like the fact that you think outside of the box and push the technology. But the OP wasn't just giving us a heads-up on new and interesting technology that was meant for Cousteau and his dive team, he was stating that these fins were so good that everyone should get a pair. At the point where these fins are being recommended to the masses, the issue of cost is a factor. And for a recreational diver to spend $700.00 on a set of fins there needs to be a monumental reason, or that price is just insane. And yes, I believe that some of the current prices on other brands of fins are also insane. So again my "insane" remark is directed toward the OP's claim that these are the fins that the average diver should go out and get, and not your technology. So putting aside your mean spirited comment, I do find your OPS fin fascinating and look forward to seeing more pics of it and reading more test specs about it.

No. What I'm saying is that a $350.00 scooter can maintain 3 knots for an hour. A feat that, even with these fins, I don't believe the average, or even above average diver could do.

"The dive industry itself always thought there needs to be something new, something different, different this way - different that way, and they missed the point!" If the new diver gets hit too hard up front, it tends to kill the diving up front." George Irvine.

No, I'm not dir, but I still ask; Is the op's claim this is the latest, greatest and best advance in diving technology even close?
