Wandering if anyone has experience with the Scubapro Go Sport and the Go Sport Gorillas.

Most of my diving will be the Caribbean, Mexico (Cozumel, Sea of Cortez), Florida (Jupiter and West Palm), and Monterey in Nor Cal. So, good amount of drifting and navigating some moderate to stronger currents here and there.

So, wandering if the Scubapro Sports offer sufficient power and stiffness or are the Gorillas a better option? Have bad knees so not looking for anything too stiff and trying to keep it under $200. Apeks RK3 don't fit my feet and the Quatros aren't travel friendly (I carry-on everything) so now looking at the Go Sport.

Thanks.

I have owned both. The Gorilla is slightly stiffer through the mid section and does produce more thrust if you have the legs. Since you say you have bad knees I would think you would be happy with the standard Go-Sport which come is more colors also. I have used both in high current areas including Cozumel and South Florida drifts with no concerns. Yes, the Gorilla is worth the extra $ for me but I do not have bad knees (yet) and can push them. The standard and Gorrilla are identical in weight, shape, size. The Gorilla also has a larger diameter bungee strap

Are either compatible with taking Fundies?

Super helpful. Thanks much.

What?

The Go-Sport is a near neutral fin +/-. Other than that it is much like a Jet Fin in the way it manuvers. Any kick style that can be done with a Jet Fin can be done just as well or better with the Go-Sport. The Go-Sport has a much better fit, much improved foot pocket and is super comfortable which is why I call either version the Best Fin Ever, BFE!

Are Jet Fins Fungus approved? The neutral buoyancy of Go-Sports could be a problem for some drysuit divers. The Go-Sports are designed to be a lightweight, travel friendly paddle fin.

What is the second best fin ever, for some it could be the BFE, that would be the Eddy Flipper. Is the Eddy Flipper Fundies approved, I mean it is called a flipper, not a fin, that might rule it out!

In my GUE thread i was asking about BCD and other things. Then someone brought up fins and making sure they were approved. They many have been joking but I was curious as the GoSports are on my short list.

You will need to check with your GUE Instructor. The bungee, which I love BTW, and which saves weight and is so comfortable, could be a problem for your GUE class. They may require you have a screen door spring on your fin with #24 cave line and a bolt snap. Do not know :giggle:.
