Hi Divers,
With the Suunto Gekko out to market in late 2003, I'm curious, is it worth it? COnsidering almost $100 difference (In my LDS, Gekko=$250, Vyper=$330), I really consider Gekko, but I can't find a decent review or experience. Rodale also haven't review the Gekko.
About my dive profile, I have no plan to go to Tec. I will do Night Dive (Gekko only use phosporescent display, should I worry about this?) and also Nitrox (Both of them support it, right).
From the manual, Gekko have a slight upper hand, aside from price. The battery of Gekko last longer than Vyper. And although Gekko being said that it has no PC INterface, it also stated that Chamber can still access dive data through Gekko. I thought someone will improvise to make the PC interface in the future.
What I'm looking for is the real experience of person using Gekko, especially for Night and Deep Dive. It would be better if that person also has experience with Vyper.
Many thanks.
