Skindivers were the recreational scuba divers. Frogmen was the original term for the Navy's UDT / SEALs.

Frogmen were those sleek shiney wetsuited double hose wearing no BC no SPG military divers that had air in their tanks and were later known as skindivers that used oval masks and wore flippers and had big giant knives.

Now we have cluttered up scuba divers with hoses wrapped everywhere wearing wings and big baggy drysuits so they can have redundant buoyancy and dive in teams and breathe gas and they wear fins and have little cut off steak knives.

But it's all the same thing.
As far as I'm concerned as long as you get a dive in that's all that really matters.

No, Goggles only cover the eyes and are useless for diving. A mask covers eyes, nose, and part of the face. It can be cleared and equalized while diving..

Those goggles had to be crushing into his eye sockets at that depth. And no weights, no fins (sorry, I meant no flippers), and feet that must be like leather to walk across the corals like that.

The whole fins vs flippers debate is stupid. I call them fins, some people call them flippers...who cares. If someone makes fun of you for calling them flippers, just smile and flipper 'em off.
