I am at my wit's end with my fancy fancy OC1 and the unreliable cables. Whether on Subsurface (mobile, Windows, Linux), or the even more horrific Oceanic app, communication with the second $130 cable now just halts at "connecting ..." or "timed out".

I have cleaned the contacts. I have tried every other cable on hand, and I have rebooted all devices.

Anything I missed (other than some sort of pagan ritual) that let it work? Order yet another V4 cable?

check the VCP FTDI driver, you may need to use a compatibility mode
It doesn't seem to have that option with the OceanLog 2.x included drivers. I tried some options there, none could get past the handshake on the windows pc.

Does anyone have a Suunto D4 and an Oceanic OCi/OC1 and can tell me anything about the cables? The connectors on the computer end look the same in the pictures, but since I am tired of the Oceanic cables cr***ing out I'm willing to see if the (possibly) newer FTDI chips in there actually work better?
