Edge bcd/hog wing recall

So I have a recently purchased 32 Lb HOG wing......with plastic inflator buttons.....

Only used in fresh water since mid-summer.......

The spring still looks good........

Could the spring be OK or should I get a new spring anyway?

We filed the FIOA with the CPSC. I have talked with Chris and Edge and are very impressed with the way he is handling this issue. We have a more complete article on ScubaGadget.com.

as of today I still am expecting new springs to ship from my vendor overseas on the 28th. I (and the CPSC) still have to review the testing regime on the new springs and make 100% certain the fix is a good one but hope to be shipping springs to dive shops very shortly.

I REALLY appreciate the understanding EDGE has received in this issue.

I will be needing a new wing before long. I thought about aother name brand .....but now I am considering a HOG. You seem to really back up your product. Can other HOG owners tell me how they like the ones you own? I thought about the single tank 32lb.
Also will it work with a Dive Rite plate?

I own the 32 LB single it works with both an "H" plate and a Dive Rite plate.....

Just checked my BCD spring...been diving with it in fresh and salt water for a year, but no corrosion. I'll definitely be getting the replacement though. Glad I'm on SB or I probably wouldn't have even known about it.

If you are comfortable with changing the springs I can send them to you (when they actually arrive)

I expect to have springs within 10 days.

I'm in the same boat, my nearest EDGE dealer is 2.5 hours away. What do I need to do to get a spring if I'm comfortable changing it myself?

I'd find it instructive to see the documents you filed and got back. The process interests me, although I have no reason to file one with any agency.

Just to be absolutely certain:

Of the HOG wings,
-32 lb single with plastic inflator is effected

-NOT effected are:
-32 lb wing with metal inflator
-38 lb wing
-58 lb wing

Is this correct?
