Hey Tunaman68:
I've been reading your posts and praying that the weather will stay perfect for you and your daughter. I wish you two could stay longer so hubby and I could dive with you again (we arrive on 4/5). At least you'll get to say HI to Carl and Mary before you leave. Lucky ducks...they get two weeks of diving!

Have a safe trip and good thoughts are coming your way for perfect weather!

Did you head over to the cenotes? Would be interested to hear if you did and which ones you visited. You know....preparation just in case we get blown out!

I would pass on Chac Mool. When I did it last year most of the two dives were within a stirred up halocline region.

yep, the eastside was blown out today as well. Just a few degrees to the north or east makes a big difference for both sides of the island. This one has been the Perfect norte that makes both sides unsafe. But it should be over by tomorrow mid day for the west (normal) side.

We did not make the crossing. The port at Playa was closed as well (??) and the ferry looked like it would be a ride from hell in a tin can!! We hired a taxi who took us around the island (in years of trips I'd never done that) and we had a great, dry, safe day!! This is a beautiful place especially above the water on the east side! Our driver Victor was so sweet and kind. The very essence of Mexican hospitality!!

Hope the pool is open today!!!!!

Current winds look slower than expected - 5 mph? Looks like a cool day tho. Hope everyone has hooded jackets for SIs!

Wow, it's going to be warmer here than there today. Yep, it's springtime...

Port opened at 9am - and I just got back from my first bike ride since surgery! It's a gorgeous day but the winds are still strong, but out of the NE - so diving south is beautiful!

We got nervous as the port was closed when we first got up. We decided to insure diving and went to playa. As it turned out we were on the 9:00 ferry when they opened the port. However, we had two awesome dives in Cenote de Dream Gate with our own guide and only two other people in the entire jungle!!

Were gonna make it up today with five tanks on a flat sea with blue partly cloudy skies and almost no wind!

Glad you're back in action!!!!!

6 degrees warmer and more sunshine here, but I'd still rather be there.
