Does a Norte shut down the Playa ferry?

We got nervous as the port was closed when we first got up. We decided to insure diving and went to playa. As it turned out we were on the 9:00 ferry when they opened the port. However, we had two awesome dives in Cenote de Dream Gate with our own guide and only two other people in the entire jungle!!

Were gonna make it up today with five tanks on a flat sea with blue partly cloudy skies and almost no wind!

Holy moly....five dives! You'll have to let us know how they are! Did you arrange with the BA for the cenote trip? In other words, did they give you a dive shop referral? I've only dived Dos Ojos and haven't heard about Cenote de Dream Gate. What made it so awesome? Just picking your brain in case we get blown out one of the days. I trust your judgement!

Yes the dive shop hooked us up with Mexico Blue Dream (same as last time) for the cenotes. It was great! Dream Gate was dark and tight with lots of black silt on the bottom so it would be easy to make it a mess if anyone has trouble with keeping the fins in trim. The formations were pristine and the variety of shapes was amazing. Lots of little fish and shrimp, and there's a cool air pocket cave to surface in. The entrance is just a big sink hole and the stairs down were a bit sketchy. We loved the whole day!!

Five dives the following day were 1) Punta Sur Cathedral, Columbia Shallow, Columbia Deep, Torments, Paradise. KILLER DAY!!! Had dinner with Carl and Mary, George and Anne on Friday. Hope you guys have fun!!
