Survivors could be alive inside Bayesian due to ‘air pockets’ - live

Surprised this hasn't been discussed as of yet. It looks like they have limited technical capabilities on the scene as the main constraint for search is a bottom time of 12 minutes at 160ft. Hope for a positive outcome. Some of the highest net worth people in the world, I'd imagine theyd have tech divers on site by now.

It needs a commercial dive team: What do you do when/if you find them, how do you bring them to the surface safely given the amount of decompression that they will need? I imagine that they will need a submersible recompression chamber.

If there are survivors I’d imagine they’d have a serious deco obligation by now unless they’re behind a bulkhead door.
I know that’s not a very nice reality but I’m just being honest

There are no survivors. Another report says rescue divers have seen dead bodies inside but access was not possible due to debris.
From footage of the rescue divers from the local fire brigade, it looks like they are diving with 12L Air Tanks.
Will look for sources later.
PS: 49 m
PPS: yes, bottom time is short, but including some deco time/stops should not be a problem. Assistance in form of full tanks is available.

There was a thread on it earlier. It gained no traction.

It's not a diving accident incident so I didn't think it belonged here, but maybe so under the new rules.

True. Gotta wonder why not?

There has been criticism of the crew for not having everyone on deck in life vests as the weather worsened. Divers have encountered difficulties trying to enter along with debris floating around. A blacksmith made them a tool to break thru a porthole over an inch thick...

Cave divers are being brought in to search...

The mom and baby who survived had been sleeping on the deck...

I saw news that said it was a water spout like a mini tornado …. Does the phenomenon only occur with bad weather and choppy seas? It appears to have hit the boat at 4am IIRC when everyone was fast asleep - this would mean no visibility into the sky and if seas were not rough until the last minute, there would be no anticipation or reason for a night watchman to call everyone to deck…

The authorities are only allowing fire rescue divers to dive, and fire rescue divers are only allowed to use accredited equipment, which is mostly used to recover bodies from cars in rivers. I just hope none of the recovery divers get hurt, it's a body recovery operation in everything but name.
