Well during a dive, sometimes I find myself singing underwater!
Funny I know, but I find it helps me relax and slow down my breathing a bit.
On the surface, I am ususally cursing at mother nature for not giving us enough sunlight! =)

Just before entry I say a short prayer to keep me safe and in thanks for the experience.

1) First off I go through all my gear and complain how dry it is
2) Assemble my BC Tank and Reg and attach clippies
3) put on wetsuit boots and re locate fins
4) place Equipment on body re locate fins and hold them
5) Think I should get a clippy thing for my fins
6) Enter water
7) Thank my Mom and God
for repetative dives just repeat step 4 through 7

I always make sure to do my pre-dive equipment check. Nothing more embarrassing than doing a giant stride then finding out you forgot your weight belt, or your fins, or forgot to turn your air on, etc...
Even before that though, I like to go through visualization techniques. I try to "see my dive" before I "make my dive". That always helps with maintaing good buoyancy control for me.
