There is shore diving both north of town & along the southern section of town between roughly the Park Royal area down to a bit south of the vehicle ferry pier & then again starting a bit north of that pier up to just past the Palace area. Hotel Cozumel & Scuba Club are at roughly the center of that last section I mentioned & this album is a collection of the photos taken at the start of each trip when I use a shore dive to check my gear & weights.

We dove with Aldora recently and yes the steel tanks are nice to allow shedding lead, but our dives were not much longer because we were limited in time and I was coming back with 1200 and 1400 psi. The SI on the beach was nice.

By time limitied you must have dove at least 70 min or been with a bunch of air hogs.

The do a great job on a 70 min min, just don't expect to completly dive your tank. We always do 70 to 80 min. At that point we are loaded with nitrogen. We also have plenty of air left, but someone or sometimes multiple people are sucking fumes.
