My first time out to the Boneyard, and it was a pretty murky day! But had a good time with artistdiver and his friend.

Site Location: Boneyard
Water Temp: 70 at the bottom
Vizibility measured in inches. Maybe 12-18"
Current: barely
Wind: breezy, approx 5kt
Weather: sunny & clear!
Finds: Me? Mostly fossils. artistdiver had a couple good teeth, but it was hard to see much of anything!

This thread is for dive reports only not chatting. If you would like to ask another member a specific question try sending a PM. All non dive report/weather conditions post will be moved or deleted. Thank you.

Hey Babe, apparently I replied to your Shark Tooth creek post on another page. Oh well I have been to the bone yard several times but have never heard of shark creek or East Venice. Does it have good viz? Can you disclose where it's at? thanks p.s. is that a 9mm or 45 cal shell looks big
Your post was moved to the appropriate thread by me since it was not a dive report.

Went out with some friends for my first dive after certification yesterday 11/16/2009 at around 11:00 am.

Site Location: I think it was Sharky's.
Water Temp: High 60's
Vizibility: Maybe 2-3 ft, I'm rather new to this though
Current: Not much to be spoken of
Wind: Not much either, maybe 5mph breezes
Weather: Not a cloud in the sky, warmed up mid day too.
Finds: I completely struck out, another member in the part found a small snaggletooth. Did see some sheepsheads, big flounder, couple rock and spider crabs, urchins, and some weird fish that seemed to run across the bottom on its fins.

. . . I'll be back.

EDIT: wore a 7mm plus a skin tank w/ a hood liner. Stayed warm :) I would recommend for anyone who gets cold easily (like me)

went to bone yard today, 11-18-09. vis varied from 3-8' depending on bottom substrate and level of surge. Large rollers coming in from gulf. After bone yard, dived about 1/4 mile west of artificial reef. Same vis, only surge slightly worse. But still a great day on and under the water.

Get out and dive!
