I thought it was covered in sand. I tried a night dive there with a buddy and we couldn't find jack. It was a LONG swim back in. Then a month or 2 ago someone posted a video diving at DF and there was a ton of life. So where's the reef?

Hi MrChen,
The video you're speaking of might have been mine.....the whole video (minus the nurse shark) was all shot in a 20-30 foot section of reef.

If you view the following link, directly east of the parking marker that's NORTH of the bend in the road, you will see a backwards "C" in the reef. that's where the video was shot. http://goo.gl/maps/fPF9l

I want to explore between there and the pier and south of the cove to see what's still there. I plan on snorkeling this before pulling out the tanks.

Every time I dove in this area, I never went too far east from the pier.

We dove it during the day. Found the rock ledges on the south end of the embassy hotel about 150 or so yard out. It was decent but nothing close to commercial blvd
