Looks to me like you are a prime candidate to use a full face mask while diving. The conditions sound pretty bad. A few jobs would pay for the mask, and it would give you a whole lotta peace of mind!

Diving the Mississippi isn't bad. Learnig to dive in DaNang harbor, Now THAT was different. Every thing else is a piece of cake.

I have a Dacor Viper Tec. It breathes very good. To get it enviromentalized for cold water you have to upgrade it. I don't know if I would buy another one, but I am not unhappy with it.

As far as the HUB system, I used it in the pool a few times. It is pretty cool (& expensive), but I will stick to my backplate and wings.
