I'll be using this thread to document servicing my regulator and the tools I will be making to accomplish the task at hand. My reason for documenting my experience is to gain the help and advice of the more experienced and as a future aid to others planing to service their own gear.

Here are some 3D-CAD models of a couple of tools I'll be making to start off with.

Combination Wrench- Yoke nut wrench on one end, spaner wrench and wrenches for both the LP 1/2 inch and HP 3\8 inch hose connectors on the other.

IP adjuster/removal...

and a spanner wrench on the other end that will serve double duty as a Environmental cap wrench and....
IP Adjustment Wrench 2.jpg

will mate with two holes in the Universal wrench for added leverage when removing/adjusting the IP adjustment nut.

The only other tool I'll be machining myself will be a volcano seat removal/insertion tool but it is not clear from the tools section of the service manual how it's made. I have an IP gauge on order. Picks and other basic hand tools I have on hand already.

Suggestions/opinions welcome.

The combo wrench is a good idea, but you may need different ones for different regs as the pin spanner may not fit. I am not sure what the advantage of the IP tool is over a stubby screw driver. You should probably check out scuba tools to see what they have.

The only advantage the IP tool will have is I can machine the blade to fit the slot exactly eliminating any Play. It may help prevent slipping thus preventing damage to the reg. Probably not necessary and a stubby screw driver would work just fine I'm sure but I have the materials and the time so why not?

I've checked scuba tools and I'll probably just get an adjustable pin spanner. The main reason for the combo wrench is for the yoke nut.
