Yup, I accept and expect to report back with a fabulous SECOND to many of the things you have recommended - I think it's awesome that you put all the effort you do in providing this info...I know it made my life so much easier being so far away and trying to plan.

You know, if you wanted to, you could probably pop back for another quick holiday...<cough cough> I think I see you have a cold coming on and couldn't possibly go to work, wouldn't want to make everyone else sick...and sun, sand, ocean and a beer or two could make all the difference in your recovery LOL

You are 3 days in transit??? That really makes me feel guilty about my three HOUR total flight time! Of course, when and if I ever have the chance to dive the GBR, the shoe will be on the other foot...

Jeanie is a great gal! If she is there on Cozumel during your stay, she will go to considerable lengths to help you pass youse'f a good time (as we say back in the old country - south Louisiana). Please pass along my warmest regards to her, and tell her we'll see her in May if not sooner.

And although I can convince myself that I feel a little peckish, another Coz trip for me in the very near future is just not in the cards, drat the luck. You'll just have to make do without me this time. ;^)

Yeah, just over 40 hours travel time (no stops to speak of) to Dallas, overnight then off to Coz.

GBR isn't that far from the US...it's when you have to come all the way across Australia too that really adds the time!

It has been removed by the mods I believe. You can tell by most of the responses it was a negative rant against the independent dive ops on Coz. Immature and in poor taste. Not worth reading anyway.

For whatever it is worth, I just returned from my first trip to Cozumel this morning and I spent the week diving with Aldora. I could not have been more impressed with the operation. Top notch service,equipment and professionalisim. Ya'll can think what you want, but I would not hesitate to use and reccomend them. On the other hand one of the other dive operators that was part of this original post, that worked for Aldora in the past made a total a*ss of himself by doing several run buys close to our boat as we were getting ready to dive Punta Sur. Our dive master behaved in a mature and professional manner and had us stop what we were doing until the idiot moved on. My inclination was to go into town and find the jerk and realign his nose for him, and probably would have but did not want to end up in a mexican jail.....

I know these people well and they don't pull stunts like that. It is quite possible that was your perception, but it is also possible that they were in fact planning to dive the same site and were simply looking for the best place to jump. Due to the animocity between the two operators, perceptions could have been miscontrued. Also, keep in mind that you don't know the whole story.

Glad you had a good time. No one ever said that Aldora was a bad operator, just that there are others just as good or better!
