My OW was done in 3 full days including Theory and practicals, I know I slept very well!
But, if I could go back and make the decision to learn to dive again, I would choose a longer course time, purely because although I technically met the skill level required, realisitically,I know now that I wasn't ready. (the dive shop do extend the course if people struggle/don't meet the required grade)
By that, I mean I knew the theory (I am a sponge where I enjoy the subject), and technically in controlled drills I could do the skills, but I hadn't had time to get comfortable with being underwater. I should have told them that, but I figured if I was meeting the skills......
I don't know what would have happened if I had been put into a "oh *****" situation at that point. Luckily for me and those I was diving with, that only occured after 100 + dives and further training with a different instructor who went over the basics again.
Long ramble (I'm good at that), and now to the point.
If like the rest of us here, you become addicted, you are probably going to wish that 2 days was longer. If that's the case, then after the Epcot dive, don't just think "I have my ticket" I'll go diving, go find an instructor/experienced buddy and do all those drills again and again until you can do them comfortably and not "just enough to pass" - you'll be glad you did.
