My CDX5 high pressure seat went bad on the 4th dive. Was replaced, and has been fine since. I suspect that if a seat is bad, it goes fairly quickly.

Not always the case. I had about 30 dives on mine when it went, although this is fairly quick. My dive partner had about 75 dives on his.

I put a call into my LDS (Divers-Supply) a few days ago. There have contacted Oceanic, and we are waiting to hear back. The wife and I are both new to this arena. However customer support is customer support. Add to the fact the type of equipment we are talking about, and one would hope there is an immediate response. Oceanic's customer contact page is not working when you submit an issue.

Fellow kneedragger!!! Looks like a nice Gixxer in your avatar.

I'm concerned that mine is going bad as well. My octo started leaking air during last weekend's dive and a friend suggested it may be a high pressure seat problem in the first stage. What does it cost to have it replaced?

I stand corrected. My seat failure was about 6 months ago, and I thought it was an isolated instance. If the problem is so prevalent, I am surprised that Oceanic has not addressed it.

I'm still waiting to here back from my LDS. They said they had contacted a rep from Oceanic. Being new to the game this is more than concerning.

The wife is hoping scuba is a bit safer. However the bikes still rule the garage for now.

I just got a GT3/CDx5 not to long ago. I haven't been diving with it yet, but now I am slightly concerned as well.

That sucks! Get some new plastics and use those as your race skins. :D Looks like it is set for the track, and crashed at the track, full leathers, I will venture to say you were/are a bit sore but nothing serious. Hope you are/were ok. Don't let your wife read Shadow Divers or Deep Decesnt as mine did, now scuba is not even safe in her eyes. :D

We all watched Open Water the night before I went diving in the Turks and Caicos earlier this year. That was timely :D
