Anyone have directions from I-75? That is where I will come from, so I don't know how long I will be driving until I know where the heck I will be going.

david, Peacock Springs is about 70 miles from Gainesville. Once you're on I-75,
do the following:

* Take the US-441 exit towards ALACHUA, exit #399 - go 0.2 mi
* Continue towards US-441 NORTH/HIGH SPGS. - go 0.1 mi
* Continue on US-441 NORTH - go 4.8 mi
* Continue on N 1ST AVE/NE 1ST AVE - go 0.6 mi
* Continue on N 1ST AVE/NW 1ST AVE - go 1.1 mi
* Continue on NW 1ST AVE - go 1.2 mi
* NW 1ST AVE becomes US-27 - go 17.1 mi
* Continue on US-27/US-129 - go 4.1 mi
* Continue on US-27 - go 17.5 mi
* Turn on FLETCHER ST - go 3.2 mi
* FLETCHER ST becomes SR-51 - go 1.6 mi
* Arrive at the center of LURAVILLE, FL

you will want to keep an eye on the bridge over the Suwanne,
as soon as you cross it, keep your eyes open for the
Agricultural Station. Bill's place is the dirt road across the
station.

The continue thing is what makes the directions as clear as a siltout. Do I stay on the same road until the directions say turn? If so, then why do the directions give mileage between same road points?

Dazed, confused, & just generally a lonesome lost dog,
David

yeah... it means you just stay on the road while the road
changes names. just turn when it tells you and you'll be ok :wink:

This is a very sad day. I can't believe that Fran lost her life. She was a very warm and friendly person who would remember a persons name after meeting them one time. I'm sitting here crying like an idiot. She wasn't a diver but decided to become certified. I know Bill is devastated. I can't type anymore.

H2Andy:
Orange Grove has a great cavern dive, you can go back quite a
ways and still be in daylight. also, not too deep (90-ish max)

good place to practice reel and signal work

ok, so what time is everybody but Fred getting there?
i'm thinking between 8:00 and 8:30, get a dive in by 10:00,
meet up with Fred while we refil?

The vis at Orange Grove in the ow is almost nothing, just a few feet. Although the cavern is clearer, not much light will be penetrating thru both the duck weed and the algae bloom. Make sure that your cavern dive doens't turn into a cave dive due to the lack of sun light shining in the cavern zone.

Also Fran's funeral is this Friday, I don't knwo if CE will be open on Saturday. You may want to meet up at the Dive Outpost insted. Its the dive shop on the right side of the road on the road with Peacock.

thanks wendy, good thoughts...

we need to regroup on this one
