Hi, I just recently finished my NSS basic cave class (formerly intro) and was
wanting to make another trip in 1-3 months back to the Peacock Springs area in FL.
Problem is none of my buddies have cavern or cave certification and
I know very few people who do. If anyone would be interested in making a trip
there let me know. Hate to have taken the class and then not really be able to use
it because of nobody to dive with.

Thanks

LOTS of places to hook up with a buddy. Sign up over at "Cave Divers Forum" and you should be all set.

Thanks, I'll do that.

Cave buddies are a little harder to find than regular dive buddies, but you can do it. As already mentioned, check the CDF; also keep an eye on this section of this board and also the DecoStop.

Local contacts may be your best bet. I'll bet there's a few cave divers around Chattanooga. Ask around wherever you do you open water diving. You'll make some contacts. It's not unusual for a cave diver to want to make an open water dive with you before going cavin; don't let that bother you. What ever you do.....don't give up, it's worth it.

Keep me in mind; my buddy and I try to get to N FL about twice a year. Might work it out sometime. good luck Steve

myself and jeandiver are usually able to dive on weekends

let me know when you're coming, and we'll probably be able to join you

Try starting with your instructor...

Henryville:
Try starting with your instructor...

Good advice.

Hopefully your instructor is amenable to mentoring after you finish your courses with him/her.

Thanks for all of the advice guys. My instructor did
say I could dive with him but his schedule is always
pretty full. I'm an assistant OW instructor at one of the
local dive shops here in town and know several people.
Oddly enough I don't know any cave divers from this area.
Not to say there isn't any, I just haven't met them.

I'll let you know. Not sure myself yet
