Went down to the Dive Park late afternoon to see how things look for tomorrow... they are now pussy cat. The air station even opened up in the afternoon. I heard vis was "poor" (local diver) to "great."

Sunday, sweet Sunday with so much to do... but I'll go diving anyway!!!

I'm glad I made it to Casino last weekend! Conditions were great. Thanks for the help Dr B. No doubt I will be back as soon as possible. Hope it clears up tomorrow for you.

Dove Sequit Point today. Ocean was flat at sunset. Sea gulls resting on the ocean just 10 or 15 yards from shore. Vis was 10 ft.

It was terrrrrrific. 30 ft. vis, easy entry in almost no wave. What a great day for the old marineland aka long point. If you did not dive Sunday, you missed out.

But who's going to be spending 3 days on the water this coming WE?

SoCalAJ- Are you sure you weren't watching someone else underwater? The only reason I'm so cool is that I wear my shortie in winter. Seriously, thanks for the nice words.

Arnaud- much as I'd like to do my usual three day dive weekend this weekend, I'm heading up to Ventura Sunday for a conference and then off to La Paz. Of course once in La Paz I'll be diving all those cool islands in the "Sea of Cortez" off my ship with just my 3mm shortie!

Did four dives today at the Park. Other than the fact it has shrink to 1/3rd to 1/2 its former size overnight, conditions were pretty good!

You meant the park, right? :D

The buoys have moved???

Yes, I meant the park Arnaud!

The chains broke on three of the buoys that hold the boundary rope in place. Man, now I wish I'd actually gone in the water yesterday with my camera to get some awesome storm video!

I thought that Santa Ana winds kicked up the waves in Catalina?

The jets have been landing coming in from the ocean at John Wayne Airport. This normally indicates santa ana (offshore)winds

Dr. Bill, can you usually dive even with santa anas?

Was Saturday's more of a swell than usual? Was it a ground swell?

What's happening today? It looks like the planes are landing land side so no Santa Anas today.
