We've found Carnaval manageable. I'm a curmudgeonly person so I usually avoid the parades, but it's never much louder than usual at our house. If you know how to get where you're going on 10a and 15a Avenidas, closures of Melgar aren't very disruptive. That is, unless you're in Mega when they block off the street and come out to find you're stuck for an indeterminate period. We walked home and picked up the car later.

The divemasters are often pretty subdued in the mornings, though.
