Sorry for yelling but I needed to vent.

My Norman's Woe diving experience really changed my SCUBA perspective big time. This site is beautiful (land & underwater), but the access is a royal beech. The 1/4 mile trail, the rugged (& dangerous) terrain, the active police-towing, etc. makes this hell.

I wonder if we can team up & write to our State Rep so that 1) they can legalize those parking spaces opposing the current mini-lot, 2) paving the trail so that we can tow our equipment to the site, 3) make 'steps' in the terrain so that we don't fall & kill ourselves. As a matter of fact, minor modifications (I prefer not to call it destroying) to the terrain in most other shore sites can make our lives a million times easier. I know this is tempering with natural landscape but can they just build a rocky 'stairway' on the side for divers, fishing people & those who are physically challenged?

Or is this too much to ask for?

As far as I know, State does not even have budget to fix all the broken boat ramps. I doubt they will do anything about it in the near future. It is amazing that this state throw billions of $ into some black holes in the city and have no money to fix a few ramps. Not that I really care..

btw, are you sure state owns that peice of rock?

If your state can't afford the improvements and you can get approval for some sort of improvement, you may want to consider talking with your local BSA Troop. There may be some young men that are looking for a good Eagle Project to work towards. You can also be the first to donate some building supplies and time to help him with his project. Just a thought.
