Hmm let's see... dry suit or go to somewhere with 30 degree water

Haha drysuit equals more diving overall for me. Can't afford to dive twice a week in 30C... Actually I don't like hot places too, so that rules out 30C diving for me...
 
Agree Brisbane is a pretty good choice. The city's really getting interesting and you're on top of some of the best diving in the world. Inner city suburbs the most expensive but if you stay on the northside you're slightly closer to most of the diving. Take a look at Enoggera, Kelvin Grove, and work north and east from there - prices go down the further you go away from the city centre.
