Blue Springs Quarry Indiana

Haigh is up in Kankakee, IL. It's supposed to be quite nice, but I've never been there. From what I hear their viz is pretty good... 15-30 feet. They have a sunken LARK (sp?, military amphibious vehicle), military dump truck, boats, cars, rock crusher, and drill... but this is all hear-say, not first hand info. I did, however, speak to Tina. She runs Haigh, and she said they have an infestation of Zebra Mussles right now. She encouraged crushing a few and feeding them to the fishies! She said the fish would love us for it. LOL

It s not hear say all that stuff is there and more. I dive there once a month and really enjoy it there. They have a full line of rental gear and air fills. Tina and her crew really make you feel at home and she will go out of her way to find a dive buddy for you if you should show up alone.I am diving there this wekend.

That 3 mil hyperstretch is slippery, too- you should have seen erparamedic sliding along that platform (don't believe her when she blames it on the slime ).

It's probably a lot more enjoyable if you go there the first time with someone who knows where they're headed...

Hahaha!! TG will say anything to make herself look good! LOL You see, she's diving with me again on Wednesday.... I just might have to body slam her again, and set her straight! LOL

We had an absolute blast!! It was chilly under the thermocline though... I'm sure glad I got that other wetsuit!

Oh and if you ever dive with Trucker Girl... BEWARE!! She dives with secret strategies! She'll invade your space, knowing that you will kindly move over.... then when you move over, she'll be in a pre-determined spot, and you'll be in a current and slowly get "whooshed" into her! Then she'll blame YOU for body slamming her!

Geesh... some people! LOL

Ok, ok.... I'm kidding! TG is a great person and diver.... and we had lots of fun... we like to exaggerate certain "happenings." LOL

Glad to hear that. I read your report as TG linked... It sounds like a great fun.

Right before we went down to play Uno (after the short 30 minute total excursion that we cut short the first dive) we talked with some other divers who showed up... THANK GOD we saw them, too, because it was pretty dark down on hat armored car and we were busy looking at the cards, I looked up- and there was a diver. It startled me and I might have had a problem if I hadn't known there were other divers- I SHOULD have known they would be swimming by but I forgot. I pointed the other diver out to erparamedic because I didn't want her to get the same shock I just had when he moved into her view... didn't work thought. I busted up laughing when she jumped- I thought she was going to slip right off the north side of the armored car and into oblivion...

I'd like to tour around the quarry and see what's there, but out where we were was very... strange... for that first dive. We were somewhere south and west of the coffin (which we found on dive #3 when we played on the platform in the NE part of the quarry) at about 20 feet with nothing to use for visual orientation.

Hey, hoosier... where do you live... you up for a game on Wednesday? I might not be able to beat erparamedic, but I bet I can whoop you!

Wow- I didn't even realise there was hoosier and Divin'Hoosier... is there a diving hoosier, too?

Everytime I read BS I think of the OTHER B.S.! I guess with people being upset about the rate hike, that's kind of appropriate!
