I want to dive BHB too, finally got my own gear and need to get my weights right before heading out on a boat. Anyone need a buddy to dive with tomorrow? I'm new to diving and don't know that many divers. Friend I got certified with isn't so stoked about diving like I am, he always has excuses not to dive, so I want/need to meet new divers, make some new friends.
I know high tide is around 9:30am, I'm going to try to be there by 9am, It's a 2 hour and 45 min drive for me, I'm coming from Cocoa Beach.
There should be a bunch of divers there to help you out today. I'm diving scooters today so can't really help you but just feel free to talk with any one and you'll likely have a buddy in jig time...btw take lots of time to get weighted correctly.

Joanie and Tall are climbing a mountain somewhere .

I'm back. It was an incredible trip. I don't even know where to begin with highlights. But I think one has got to be visiting the Monestario del Carmen de La Asuncion. 18 cloistered nuns who never come out or are even seen. They raise money by making various products. We bought the "locion" for sore muscles (think Absorbine Jr. with a picture of St Teresa on the front of the bottle). It works. We went back and bought as many bottles as we could carry home.

Schlepping heavy dive gear will not be a problem this winter. See you under the bridge one day this week.

That is so cool. I've never heard of "Monestario del Carmen de La Asuncion" (and I consider myself one of the smartest people I know), so I googled. Every hit I got was in Spanish. Even Wiki. A little more research is in order.

Yeah, hope to be out there soon. Last of the house guests just this moment left. Time to clean house.

Jenny,

Haven't been up to BHB in a month...how was the viz? Last time I was there it was about 2'.
Vis was 20-25 when the silt kickers weren't around.

Did you get a good pic of the seahorse I showed you? At least I think it was you!

Welcome back. Glad you had a good time, now get that gear packed and lets go diving! :)

We needed traffic control today but as SJ says the viz was good when flailers went the other way.
Water temp was 77-78. Saw SJ's longsnout seahorse but most critters decided to wait out the divers...even Stumpy was in hiding.

I looked and looked and could not find Stumpy. Was all over there yesterday and today. Found his old hangout too.. and there was sign of activity there, but I don't know how recent. I hope Stumpy is OK..

A couple photos from today and yesterday's dive..

Hard to find any info. Even conflicting reports from the locals. Surrounded in mystery! Let me know what you find out.

Welcome back. Glad you had a good time, now get that gear packed and lets go diving! :)

Is it wrong that I am contemplating playing hooky on my first day back from vacation?
