$1300 in a paper bag sitting in a shopping cart at Home Depot. I turned that one in and they told me a contractor called them in a panic and described the bag (had some numbers on it), and the exact denominations in the bag. Then, they asked me if I was satisfied that the owner had been found? (With that much description I told them to give the money back to the owner).
I like to think what goes around comes around.
Every time I receive too much change or get an extra bill from a bank teller I return it. I've lost phones two times (state of the art at the time). Both times they were returned by strangers.
One time I was down at Gulfstream with a buddy who likes to bet on the ponies. I saw a guy in a wheel chair drop a betting slip. I picked it up and and tried to return it to him. For some reason he dissed me

Sure enough it turned out to be a winner. Not huge, but enough to pay for my day. Did I try to find the guy again? Hell no. Screw him and the chair he rode in on.
