Ive seen them a few times, and noticed that if you don't follow them, but stay in one spot, they tend to just hang there with you, face into the current. I've spent 10-15 minutes holding onto a rock in a current and had them come and go 2-3 times. Shots from last year:

I've had giant black sea basses that passed by me without a glance and kept on trucking and I've had them following me around like puppies. They are indeed gentle giants. Except for if you're in bad viz and suddenly you turned and saw a MASSIVE FREAKING FISH eyeballing you from like a foot away...but it's all good.
 
I am signed up to dive with LoisAnn this coming Thursday which is going out to Yukon, Ruby E and kelp beds. There is still alot of space available. Lets go!
