I'm scheduled to dive Wreck Alley on the Lois Ann Sat and Sun... hope the trips don't get canceled, especially if I've driven all the way down there.

Hey Dr. Bill, we are going out with DCI both Sat & Sun. The 4-5ft they are looking at now is less than was forecast earlier in the week, but still is a lot of rock & roll on those little boats. At least the trip out and back is short.

Anyone have thoughts on where to shore dive this weekend? Are certain beaches/coves more protected? I don't have any boat dives planned and I was really hoping to get out on Sunday. I don't mind a little bit of a battle against the waves...as long as it's not dangerous.

Your best bet would be to go to Casino Point....but if you don't want to make it an all-day event, Vet's looks like it's fairly protected. Besides, Vet's is manageable in some surf, whereas many other places are definitely not. Laguna is going to be hit hard....Malibu as well (anywhere that's south facing, really).

I'll be curious as to how the conditions are. Unfortunately, this weekend will probably not involve any diving for me. But if you wanna go out for a night dive on Thursday, let me know! :D

I checked out all the sites in Palos Verdes today. Most were getting hit, but Marineland is protected from south swells by Catalina. It may be diveable this weekend.

Chris and I will be gone next week! This time it's our turn to head out of town for a wedding (Boston). Leaving Thursday night, coming back Sunday. The week after looks good, though!

Definitely wouldn't want to do PV with hard surf. Thanks for the heads up! If I feel up to it Sunday morning, I might drive out there and check it out. Nicole, maybe I can give you a call if conditions look good and you can head on over! I'm still hopeful...

When is the surf gonna calm down

Any updates from those who took a look today?

We were on a boat out of San Pedro and had almost glass-like conditions...
