This looks a lot like it. Is the front entirely open to the street? As in, huge doors, or actually no doors? I think they must just have a sliding down garage door or bars that slide across when they close.
dont remember the jaguar but it's been a really, really long time. That was my first dive trip ever. I'd say it was probably 1998 or 99.

Yea, its just open to the street.

What restaurant did I see that had the coconut lionfish plate? Was that El Moro? Getting my list of must eats together and I can't remember where I saw it exactly.....

Oh, I forgot to mention that one! That is TERRIFIC. Just a touch of sweet from the coconut, but not enough to overpower the lionfish! Filete Xcalakoco:

La Perlita (its on the table cloth in picture.) but it is SO good, ill post it again:

This is the "Best meal by Restaurant" thread, so you need to specify what's best at El Pique.

I'll say it's the tacos al pastor. Order them con piña for extra goodness.

I think you mean Casa Denis one of the oldest restaurants in Coz.The avocado soup is very good and their enchiladas are good too - otherwise, I am not personally a big fan of that place.

Cafe Denis also has a lime soup that had to be one of my favorite foods. I probably had it 15 times in the month that I was in Coz

sorrissi's and kondessa; also the fisherman's coop just in front of the cemetery on ave. 5. order your beer and hang on - here comes the food; lionfish is the specialty and it is awesome

I went to Bahia del Caribe and was sorely disappointed. They had an appetizer of pez leon en escabeche that was good, but our filleted fish was simply awful. Half of our party ordered plain grilled, the other half with garlic. There was no way to distinguish which was which. The fish was chewy and could not be cut with a fork.

I might try it again, but it won't be anytime soon.

Just got back from Coz last week, we didn't nearly make a dent in the old restaurant list as we usually do, because we took full advantage of Blue Angel's breakfast and lunch included on dive days.

We did, however, venture one late afternoon to Le Chef for a late lunch/early dinner and had the most amazing appetizer...fried brie with toasted baquette slices and fruit. The French sure know thier way around food!!! This dish with a glass of red wine would make a wonderful snack as well.

For the main course, I had their veggie pizza and my wife had the shrimp pizza. I don't eat shrimp, but she said it was excellent, the veggie pizza was piled high with about every vegetable available on the island!! all on top of a thin, firm & crusty crust...my wife says Le Chef is her new favorite restaurant on the island. I personally still have a hard time narrowing it down to one, but Le Chef is definatly at the top!
