I go to different places for al pastor, chicken, arabe, beef (arrachera or bistek), chuleta (fresca, ahumada), carnitas, cabeza de vaca, seafood (fried, sautéed, grilled), tuchitos, tacos de canasta, bírria, tinga, borrego, etc.

I thought I knew tacos, but I had to Google "tuchitos," and I suspect I'm not the only one. Looks like it was mentioned in a SB thread in 2019:

Tuchitos is the Mayan word for "boogers". It is used in Cozumel to describe conch ceviche made with the normally-discarded parts of the conch; skin, eye stalks, proboscis, etc. They call it boogers because that's what they look like.

You can't really talk about "best tacos" without specifying what kind of tacos!

Excellent point, and I think maybe that explains why some locals will rave about certain places while others are unimpressed with those places. They're eating different kinds of tacos!

We just got home. We did Taqueris Diaz twice!! We like them most for aracherra. We have them add some queso and use the red sauce they put an the table.

My daughter loves the pollo quesadila's they are marinated to perfection. 3 adults, one teenager, some beers and a soda for $31. My buddy couldn't believe it.

El Pique is right across the street for our 2nd place.
