Probably one reason why people thank me for doing my job is they realize what it entails. How may jobs do you know where when you’re “just doing your job” people think it is okay to verbally and physically threaten, intimidate, and assault you. Compare a policeman to a fireman. Usually you’re not too pleased to see a policeman who is contacting you in the course of their job. However, a fireman can show up at your house, knock down your door with an axe and you’re glad he came by.

Had no idea we had Monika on ScubaBoard, welcome...........

I don't get turned on by that political party;)

There are some good state employees, my fault for generalizing!

I'd rather get a lecture than a ticket..a ticket will make me hide what I'm doing rather a lecture can give me new (better) reasons not to do that ILLfakeidtakenEGAL activity

If it was either or, I'd go with the lecture as well. As it happens, the attempted lecture is taken by me as adding insult to injury. Sometimes it comes pre ticket and I've got to hope that is the penalty, so I endure it. When it comes while the officer is writing or after he has written the ticket, that is when I have to draw the line and insist that the officer do his job and not my mothers. This is what I pay him to do after all. :)

Why thank someone for doing their job, its their job? No one is thanking me for doing mine?

I take it you're one of those people who are rude to our troops too.

payment is the form of thanks that transfers everywhere, but i say thanks, some people do their job, and others do their job so well that they excel and offer the best assistance possible...
