Not to thread jack, but Hog second stages are 1/3 of the price and come with metal barrels. AFAIK the only thing you give up is the micro adjustments. Just saying... Breaths nice on my used MK20 (which to me is close enough to an MK25 and between the two pieces still cost less then $240.)

I am so sick of hearing about "Hog" anything that I will never purchase one just for that reason alone. Is it possible to have a thread without somebody inserting "Hog" into the conversation?

So basically all pre 2011 S600 have the same inernals and the only differences are cosmetic?

What about MK25s. I am looking at putting together a set for my doubles but I have not seen any sets only singles so I am considering putting two different year models together.

Where in TX are you? There's a guy in Lakeway (Austin) selling the following currently: (search for scubapro din)

MK25/DIN R390 with 6" brass and glass SPG - $210 http://austin.craigslist.org/spo/3685802214.html
MK25/DIN 1st only $125 http://austin.craigslist.org/spo/3685797666.html

Also my main buddy Six2Life has a bunch of new HP and LP hoses for sale. I'm sure he could give you a good deal.

(he seems to have posted on eBay for a little bit more also)

I don't think there's any significant difference between various years of MK25s. There'd be no problem using two from different years on a doubles set. Actually there'd be no problem using entirely different 1st stages on a doubles set either, but if you want matched regs, any MK25 would do it.

Personally I'd kind of prefer MK20 with the MK25 piston, because I'm not a huge fan of the externally adjustable IP. But that's only me and I'm weird.

Nope I think you are not correct :) IIRC there were a few releases (A,B, N) that had different adjustment knobs. If I remember correctly the earlier releases were removing the pressure from the seat when the reg is not pressurized , the later had a simpler knob without that feature.

The earlier versions require an extra upgrade of the knob if you want to upgrade the barrel. (Mine was of that kind)

So am I correct that all pre 2011 s600s are the same minus some cosmetic diffrences?
