Since they lost funding from NOAA and got some from FIU the opportunity has not presented itself. I talked with Roger the Operations Director for the habitat and he said they might allow it when they get settled into their new facility.
I'll keep as I think there is enough interest to warrant it.

Good Diving,
Capt Gary

Agreed, I had a similar conversation with Tom Potts (Director of ARB) a month or so ago. Right now they are getting ready for the October mission, which will be a 31 day sat mission. Another Cousteau dives in - KeysNet.com
This is the grandson of Jacques Cousteau. This will be interesting to see, since the last two weeks of September and all of October is prime rainy season time down here. There is a lot going on, and I am hopeful the diving program will come back onto the mix. They are working hard to get things back up and running.

I work at FIU and have a some involvement with Aquarius. I will be out there the next few days. Watch The Today Show early Wednesday morning to see a segment on Aquarius including some live video from the habitat. They just completed a NASA 5 day saturation mission on Saturday.

As we came back up the channel on Saturday afternoon, I saw them unloading at the dock. I would've loved to be able to chat with them about their experience, but I'm sure they wanted a real shower and to call home. :)
