The boats are running, the sky is blue and the sun is out here on Catalina. Now aren't you sorry you canceled your trip here? I didn't think so!

What's the swell/vis? :D

Vis 20-30 feet by all accounts at casino point/dive park :)

Excellent news!!! I hope they had fun!!!

I was lucky to hop into the pool with good buddies today and tweak my weighting for doubles -much better :). Then it's into the ocean tomorrow & the next day & maybe even the next day - who knows!

I'm lucky to have so many people around here psyched for skills dives! Hope to catch up with the gals after Fundies!

Hmmm... reports of vis yesterday from the folks I talked to was 15-20 ft. Slight current. Swell did not seem existent from the surface but I didn't ask about down below.

Heh, well, one persons 15 feet is anothers 30 or 40 I have learned :)

"Big Fun" does indeed seem to be occurring, and I am feeling kind of bad for cancelling boat yesterday ... oh well

Sorry you missed your dive Nick. I'm missing the gals in Catalina but was psyched to get stuff sorted out for tomorrows dive.

Tonight BW had 6" ankle slappers and the water looked pretty clear although I didn't jump in. Excited to hop in the water tomorrow and perhaps the next day!! Stay tuned for a condition report!

Thanks for your on-site condition reports from Catalina Dr Bill :)!

Kathy we need pictures, you might be pulling our fins about the ankle slappers at only 6 inches, someone told me they are 7 inches... :) J/K

Well Mike it's its amazing how dynamic the ocean is, the swells were quite big today & vis at Lobos was only 10 - maybe a grainy 15ft. We still had fun tooling around in our doubles :).

BW looked ok in the AM by 3pm it was probably still safe enough if you're experienced with surf, but deffinately not as inviting.

I think it's best to save your energy for Wed/Thurs when the swell goes down.

1/27 Did a mellow dive Wednesday at Lobos. Very slight surge, clear at the boat ramp and about vis was about 20ft at the beginning of middle reef and had decreased to 15ft by the time we hit 50ft deep.

I heard reports that vis was about 10ft out of the cove.

A tranquil dive with lots of nudi hunting.
