I bring my camera to Coz too, so if the dive op has 100s I will definitely take it. I don't go to Coz, or anywhere else for that matter, to drink. I am more the 5-6 dives a day type...I could drink at home, but I don't do much of that either ;)

Fine, but my guess is you are not in the majority among visitors to Cozumel, so it's not surprising that more operators don't offer large tanks. That's all I meant.

I agree with that, but I would bet that the biggest reasons include the fact that AL80 tanks are cheaper, they're quicker to fill, most common with divers world-wide, easier to transport, far less maintenance vs steel, etc

Yes, but I think that's all related. Most divers in Cozumel don't want to pay extra for something they don't feel they need. The dive ops in Cozumel want to keep costs down. I think most divers in Cozumel would rather spend the extra change on food or drink or something like that. It's a vacation destination. Sure, Cozumel attracts "serious" divers, too, but as I said above, I just don't think they're the majority--not like you'd find at a place like, say, Lembeh.

Yeah, I can see that too.

Although, at Lembeh there was a woman livid that she couldn't watch the superbowl...skipped a whole morning two tank boat to try! Being a Denver fan, I am very glad I went diving.

Unbelievable to me that someone would go all the way to Lembeh and then miss dives for something like that. Shakes head. Wouldn't she have known game schedule before booking Lembeh? (As you can see I'm not a devoted sports fan)

Why?

If you are diving a square profile with Nitrox 32, the NDL according to the PADI Nitrox 32 table is 90 minutes.

Fair enough. You could use nitrox. For that matter, dive with 36. Do a multilevel dive with 36. Stay on the surface and do nitrox assisted snorkeling. The 120 is going to last longer than the 80, cool, but to what end? For those that want to do long dives, there is a purpose for big tanks and nitrox and multilevel dives. For those people that are fine with shorter dives, at some point it becomes superfluous.

If you're square at 60 feet for 60 minutes on air, you've reached the end, essentially, unless we change the parameters to include decompression diving.

Beyond ridiculous at this point!

WHO CARES???? Why does anyone else care what someone else's preferences are? Some prefer the larger steel tanks and some don't!

Why can't we all just accept that everyone is different and has different preferences and needs - from what they wear, to what they eat & drink, what size boats they like, AI's or non AI's, hotel or condo, summer or winter, tank size, etc. etc. etc.

Anyone around here know the serenity prayer? Several of you could probably use it!
"...grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change
the courage to change the things I can
and the WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE"

While people may disagree on which tank is the best tank, I think everyone in this thread agrees on being Pro-Choice

...at least with respect to scuba tanks :)
