Yeah, they are probably calling a half spool because spools are normally associated with the HP side.

To lubricate (not grease) the o-ring use a small amount of christolube or other O2 compatible lubricant. Do not use an oil based lubricant (aka grease) or a silicon lubricant.

It is an air flow restrictor. A little Christolube (O2 compataible) on the oring, but very little.
