Do you plan to offer AI? If yes, what transmitter?

No reason you wouldn't have a conservative, moderate, and liberal setting as does Shearwater in its rec mode, 35/75, 40/85, 45/95. However, you won't be competitive in an increasingly crowded niche without a choice for custom GFs. A proprietary transmitter is not attractive. I think you overestimate the value of your ping. Many of us have no use for it. What demographic is it that you are going for?We haven’t defined the presets yet, do you have suggestions?
An S1 transmitter would use ultrasonic comms, so unfortunately it won’t be compatible with electromagnetic ones used by other manufacturers.
The devil, or course, is in the detail. Personally I would find a simple ping of limited utility. And on the downside, although the ping tells you who it is from, I didn't see any indication that you could select who you send a ping to.
Scubdada, thanks for your ideas on GF!
The S1 is a rec dive computer, so our target group is not primarily tech divers. We believe that the comms feature together with compass, hi-res screen and all-wireless design and a competitive price will put it at a great place in the line-up.
Dmaziuk, that’s exactly the use case we found the ping feature most useful for in our tests, showing your dive buddy your sightings!
So when i ping someone or visa versa it shows me their location on the compass?
