My buddy had a pseudo bad experience at Aquarius 2. He asked if they rented anything bigger than 80s and they said not a single shop in monterey does. So he rented a few. Meanwhile, i was down the street at MBDC when he met me there and I pointed out that they rented 100s. So... he rented 100s and got mad that they lied to him. Of course, they may just not have been aware but since the other dive shop is walking distance, that's a little hard to believe but not completely.

Anyways, If you had a computer with you on the dive, wouldn't the history mark air pressure at the end of the dive? At least you can argue that the tank wasn't IN the water when/if it dropped below 300.

I've rented LP95's from Glenn's Aquarius 2, at the Breakwater. I don't know why they would have told you that...

Well that's the point, it feels like that whoever told my buddy that did it just so that he would rent what they had available there. Perhaps they did have 95s but they were all gone or something. It was memorial day weekend so there were quite a few people in town diving.

Aquarius on Del Monte came first. It was originally (at least in my history, ca. 1986) in what
is now Dodi Motors a couple of blocks closer to Hwy 1. In the building behind it was a
pretty rough Harley-Davidson shop, which had "NO DIVERS" signs (diver with a red
circle/slash over it). Eventually they moved to the current Del Monte building, and a
while after that opened the shop on the breakwater. Eventually, the two shops ended
up in separate hands.

On a separate note (hijack), that Dodi is a real class act. We got a flat on the way down to Monterey for the second time in two months, and Calderon's Tires (behind Dodi, where that Harley shop used to be) is the only place we knew of for fixes. They were closed, so Dodi offered to hold the tire for us and get it patched there the next day while we dove (we couldn't delay the dive cause it was our reef check cert). The next evening everything was ready. I wish we had that kind of service at the dive shops down in Monterey!

I have a MG TF-1500. I saw the red midget they had. Pretty nice.

They still have a bronze yellow 4 cyl. Pretty sporty looking.

I have not seen the MGC yet.

My grandmother has a saying for this. Better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are dumb, rather then open it and prove them right.

TishaDee,

This is at least the 2nd thread where you've been dispensing completely inaccurate information (about VIS procedures, tank tumbling, and Hydro). Please stop. Heed your own advice.

I am sorry, but having read this entire thread, I can only say, that it was interesting and also helpful in its perspectives, except for parts related to this group of postings. For someone whose challenge on their profile reads to ignore the self-important flames of posters, Tisha Dee, you seem to have fallen into that pattern. Ease up, and lurk and learn. A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing, after all.
While I may be an instructor and have my fair share or experience, I realize that there are many with much more and a lot with much less. Try listening and keep from responding until a thoughtful time has elapsed. this will save a lot of time and typing.... Plus, obnoxious is obnoxious, and the folks here will definitely call you on it. Good luck, and hang in there.

Please fill me in on how I could be incorrect in stating the processes and procedures at my LDS? In our brief history of conversing, you've gotten way off of topic to prove a point that wasn't even up for dispute. Anyone who reads my post history will see that if I don't know something I say it. I have far too great of a respect for this sport to give inaccurate information merely for the sake of my own ego. Although, I have witnessed time and again how folks like yourself like to dumb down other people for the benefit of your own ego.

Surely you must realize there are numerous dive shops out there all doing things slightly different then you and while you might think your way is the only way and the best way, it's ignorant to think that you know all. Get over yourself and stop slamming anyone with a difference of opinion, this is a public board and we are all entitled to share what we've learned for the benefit of others. If you don't like other people's opinions perhaps you should start a blog and leave the public forums to those that have respect for other people’s experiences, knowledge and opinions.

As far as the other post is concerned that you mentioned, I have a link here for anyone that feels inclined to read it and see for themselves if I posted any inaccuracies:
